Anita B. Lafontaine, 78, of 218 Pond St. Woonsocket, died Saturday in the Philip Hulitar Center in Providence, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Lafontaine was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Joseph and Alphonsine (Boudreau) Cote. She was an assembler for the Uni Royal Co. for twenty seven years before retiring. Mrs. Lafontaine graduated form St. Claire High School in 1946. She was a member of the AARP, and the Association Canada American.
Mrs. Lafontaine is survived by a daughter, Denise Tibbetts, of Woonsocket, two grandsons, Stewart, and Gregory, a brother, Martial Cote, of S. Bellingham, four sisters, Marie Jeanne Gagnon , Leonie Lacroix, and Gloria Roberge, all of Woonsocket, and Suzanne, Houle of Las Vegas NV. She was also the sister of the late Andre, Gerard, Lucien, Prosper, Laval, Montcalm, and Dollard Cote.
Funeral arrangements under the direction of the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home are Private.
