Obituary

Marjorie Elizabeth Duffy (Tootsie) was born to the late Franklin and Sally Duffy in Summervillle, South Carolina on September 17, 1931.

At the age of 13, she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into her life at “The Church of Christ” in Freeport, New York.

She was a student at Freeport High School, where she found her passion for cooking, drawing, and playing the drums. She was later employed as a chef at the South Nassau Community Hospital in Rockville Center. After many years of hard work, she retired in 1972. She was so much fun and full of life. She loved to play bingo and travel. Till one day that travel brought her to reside in Huntsville, Alabama. Her family soon followed.

She leaves to cherish her memory seven children: Bonnie L. Duffy, David A. Duffy (Nanette), Anthony R. Duffy (Francine), Eric C. Duffy, all of Huntsville, Alabama, Christine A. Duffy, Elizabeth P. Duffy of Atlanta, Georgia, and Carla Duffy of Long Island, New York; sixteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Marie Duffy; one goddaughter, Renita Little; her best friends: Helen Moore, Charlotte Wyckoff, and Rosemary Hammonds, all of Huntsville, Alabama, Diane Greggs and Ruby Webb, both of Long Island, New York; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
