Maria Teresa Galluzzo, 78, of Medford, died Wednesday in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Medford. Born in Grottiera, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and the late Maria Carmela (Caristo) Lombardo.
She came to America with her family in 1968 and settled in Lawrence. She moved to Medford in 1976. Teresa is remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and taking care of her family.
She is survived by her late husband Domenico, her son Pietro S. Galluzzo and his wife Josephine (Berte) of Medford and her late son Pat and his wife Maryanne (Burke) of Wilmington. She leaves three grandchildren: Domenic, Michael and Sabrina.
Maria is the sister of: Michele Lombardo and Maria Barilla of Italy, Elisabetta Lombardo and Maria Rosa Luca both of Australia and the late Salvatore, Domenico, Rafaele and Vincenzo Lombardo. She also Leaves many nieces and nephews throughout the world.
Her funeral mass will be offered at St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford Saturday at 11AM. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Friends may visit Friday from 5 thru 9 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
