Ms. Bertha Lee McCauley was born January 26, 1934, in Madison County to the late Ms. Preston Lee Booker and the late Mr. Willie “Bocuff” McCauley.
She confessed faith in Christ and joined the Saint James Primitive Baptist Church in Huntsville, Alabama.
“Ms. Bertha,” as many in the Meadow Hills area knew her by, will be sadly missed by all that knew her. To know her was to love her, simply because she was most of all, “Ms. Bertha” or “Grandma.”
During her last days on this earth, God had an angel watching over her, until He saw fit for her to rest from her earthly troubles. Early Thursday morning, August 24, 2006, Ms. Bertha took God by the hand and received her invitation to eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her son, Mr. Roosevelt McCauley.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories two devoted and loving children: Robert Morris, Sr. and Jacquelyn McCauley, both of Huntsville, Alabama; a loving aunt, Dorothy Collins; a loving sister, Margaret Wherry; four grandsons: Xzavier McCauley of Huntsville, Alabama, Curtis Grantham, III of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Robert Morris, Jr. and Kendrick Morris, both of Tampa Bay, Florida; two loving granddaughters: LaQueta McCauley and Anjanette Grantham, both of Huntsville, Alabama; six great grandchildren; a devoted special friend, Mr. Melvin Ballard, Sr. of Huntsville, Alabama; a host of neighbors, friends, and other relatives, who all loved her.
