Obituary

Mrs. Willie Mae Pruitt was born June 18, 1935 in Decatur, Alabama to Mrs. Minnie Ree Garner and the late Willie Owen Garner. On Wednesday, August 2, 2006, she was called home to eternal life. She was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Elliot Pruitt; a sister, Gladys Garner Burwell and a granddaughter, Dava Pettus Gray.

Willie Mae accepted Christ early in life and joined the Saint Rebecca Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Elder Joe Pendleton.

Willie Mae was united in holy matrimony to John Erskin Pruitt; to this, union six children were born.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories her mother, Minnie R. Garner; one daughter, Joyce Marie Pettus (Davie) of Huntsville, Alabama; four sons, John Curtis Pruitt of Desoto, Texas, Pastor Carl Ray Pruitt (Debbie) of Nashville, Tennessee, Anthony Owen Pruitt (Suzanne) and Willie Darnell Pruitt (Michelle), both of New Market, Alabama; 14 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; one sister, Pearlie Crutcher of Long Beach, California; one aunt, Irene Oglesby of Huntsville, Alabama; a special friend, Cora Bell Farris; a special cousin, Lucille Ford and a good neighbor, John Mark Garner and a great host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends
