Worcester- Helen T. (Gosk) Swierzbin, 83, of Worcester, died Wednesday, Oct. 23, in UMass-Memorial Medical Center- Memorial Campus, after an illness.
Her husband of 43 years, Francis V. "Frank" Swierzbin, died in 1991. She leaves two daughters, Kathleen M. Chinnici of Pittsgrove, NJ, and Patricia A. Kusz of Paxton; three sisters, Anne Konisky of Auburn, Jane Lundberg of Worcester and Wanda Fish of Worcester; 3 grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A brother, Benjamin Gosk, prededeased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Benjamin and Teofila (Ozarowski) Gosk and graduated from St. Mary's High School.
Mrs. Swierzbin was a sales clerk at Filene's in Worcester many years before retiring.
She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Catholic Parish, the Ladies auxiliary of the Polish American Veterans of World War II, and the Filene's Retirees Club.
The funeral will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, from Henry-Dirsa Funeral Home, 33 Ward Street, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, in the funeral home.
