Mary (Pina) Moniz, 83, of New Bedford died February 18, 2007 at Southeastern Massachusetts Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was the widow of the late Arthur Moniz.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joseph and Laura (Tavares) Pina, she lived in New Bedford all her life.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Mrs. Moniz was formerly employed as a stitcher for Colonial Textile.
Survivors include 3 nieces, Laura Michaels, Mildred Fernandes, and Emily Gomes, all of New Bedford; a nephew, Cezar Duarte of New Bedford; many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was the sister of the late Henrietta Montrond and Adeline Neves and aunt of the late Frank "PeeWee" Duarte.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Friday, February 23rd at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday, February 22nd from 4-8 PM.
