TEWKSBURY: Margaret L. “Peggy” (Morris) Whitehouse, age 75, a resident of Tewksbury for 56 years, died Sunday, February 18, 2007 at Saints Medical Center in Lowell.
She was the wife of John F. “Jack” Whitehouse, with whom she celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on December 29th.
Born in Barre, MA on September 13, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Reuben and Mildred (Miller) Morris.
Mrs. Whitehouse was raised Barre, attended Barre schools and graduated from Barre High School in 1949.
Following graduation, she attended Worcester State College.
Mrs. Whitehouse was a communicant of St. William’s Parish of Tewksbury, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. In addition, she was a member of the Tewksbury Interfaith Choir.
According to her husband, she dedicated her life to caring for her family and cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Whitehouse enjoyed reading, completing crossword puzzles, following the Boston Red Sox and volunteering her time to her church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five daughters, Nancy L. Rourke and her husband James of Townsend, Judy A. August and her husband Peter, Joan M. Petros and her husband Joseph all of Tewksbury, Patricia J. Regan and her husband David of Merrimack, NH and Kathleen M. Gordon of Lowell; two sons, Frederick M. Whitehouse of Methuen and J. Bruce Whitehouse and his wife Karen (Ricciardelli) of North Andover; eighteen grandchildren, James Rourke and his wife Sara, Christine Stanton and her husband Jason, Patrick Rourke and his wife Rosie, Kelly Rourke, Adam Fuller and his wife Hope, Luke Fuller, Matthew Petros and his fiance Jaclyn Orpen, Brad, Laura and Kaitlin Petros, Christopher and Allison Regan, Alicia and Amy Gordon, Lyndsey, Bryan, Connor and Ashley Whitehouse; two great grandchildren, Chloe Rourke and Jack Fuller; two sisters, Ruby Hardsog and her husband Richard of Malta, NY and Mary Charron and her husband Ray of Ocoee, FL; two brothers, Richard Morris of Petersham and Thomas Morris and his wife Pat of Ocoee, FL; also many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, February 22nd, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Friday, February 23rd at 11 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 12 Noon, at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Tewksbury, MA 01876 are requested.
