Alma J. (Lacaire) Howard,79, of 9 Ash St., died Sunday, Feb. 18 at
St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester.
She leaves her husband of 59 years, Joseph G. Howard, a daughter Nancy J.
Collette and her husband Donald of Spencer, three sons, Timothy J. Howard
and Kathleen Whitcomb of Spencer, William A. Howard and his wife Lisa of
Blairsville, Ga., and Daniel E. Howard and his wife Jody of Spencer a sister
Theresa Berthiaume of Spencer, and nine grandchildren, Adam and Suzy
Collette, Ellen, Kelly, Will, Justin, Patrick, Joel and Zachary Howard, and
many nieces and nephews.
Alma was born in Spencer, the daughter of John B. and Alma (Therrien)
Lacaire and lived here all of her life. She worked 16 years as a customer
service representative at Spencer Savings Bank, before retiring in 1992.
Alma was a member of Mary,Queen of the Rosary Parish. She graduated from
David Prouty High School in 1945. She enjoyed being with her family and
cooking for them, traveling, trying new restaurants, knitting, cross word
puzzles and cooking shows. She will be missed dearly by her husband and
family, and the many friends she had.
The funeral for Alma will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 21 from the J.HENRI
MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m.
in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will take
place at a later date and at the convenience of the family in Mary,Queen of
the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Tuesday, Feb. 20 from 5 to
7p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mary,Queen of the
