Muriel A. (Bessom) Collins, 96, of Manomet formerly of Mansfield died on Sunday February 18, 2007 at the Life Care Center in Attleboro, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry M. Collins who passed away on January 22, 1994.
Born in Mansfield, MA on May 29, 1910 she was a loving daughter of the late Henry and Eva (Manson) Bessom Jr.
She grew up and was educated in Mansfield. Mrs. Collins was a retired Sales Clerk having worked at the former London’s Clothing Store in Attleboro for 10 years prior to her retirement in 1971. She had lived in Manomet for 25 years and was a former 64 year resident of Mansfield.
She was the devoted mother of Marjorie A. Collins of Orange City, Florida and the late Henry B. Collins. She was the cherished grandmother of Carol Collins and Joyce Roy both of Martha’s Vineyard and Shirley Collins of Vershire, Vermont. She was the great grandmother of Dashold and Iris. Also survived by her niece Barbara L. Walker of
Raynham and her special friend Eleanor L. Rowe of Orange City, Florida. She was the sister of the late Sybil Avery.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Friday February 23rd at 2:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield. Burial will follow in the Spring Brook Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visitation will be held on Friday prior to the services at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 P.M.
