Gladys L. (Watt) Bishop died on Tuesday, February 13 at the Overlook Masonic Health Center in Charlton. She was 91 years old. Born in Newton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence (Clarry) Watt. Gladys attended the New England Conservatory of Music for 3 years. She was a private clarinet and saxophone teacher for 8 years. Gladys was active in the Order of Eastern Star for many years. She was a member of Palestine Chapter #114 OES in Newtonville. She was also a member of the Supreme Emblem Club, Oppela Temple #50 Daughters of the Nile and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. The beloved wife of the late Donald Bishop, she was the loving mother of Donna Johnson and her husband Ralph of Carver. Dear grandmother of Tracy L. Lawton and Eric C. Johnson. Great grandmother of Kealey Johnson. A Funeral Service will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Avenue Needham on Tuesday Jan. 20 at 11:30 AM. Visiting will be held on Tuesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the service. Interment at Newton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Gladys’ name may be made to the Order of Eastern Star, Palestine Chapter #114, 460 Newtonville Ave, Newtonville, MA 02460.
