Eugene A. Demers, age 87, of Woburn formerly of North Cambridge, died February 13th at the Winchester Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband for 46 years of Elizabeth (Eisnor) Demers. Born in Newton and raised in North Cambridge, he was the son of the late Leon L. and Marie R. (Theriault) Demers.
Mr. Demers was a proud United States Navy Veteran serving in South Pacific during WWII. He was a member of the North Cambridge V.F.W. post 7353. Mr. Demers worked for many years as a machinist in the engine building and machining industry. Mostly devoted to his loving family, he enjoyed playing golf with his son and friends. In addition to his wife Elizabeth, he is survived by his son Eugene L. and his wife Anna of Woburn. His loving grandchildren Joseph and Kristiana Demers. He is also survived by his brother Norman Demers of Woburn, brother-in-law Eddie Morel and his wife Eleanor of Billerica, sister-in-law Fayette Henley and her husband Irving of Nova Scotia and many loving nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Ida Morel.
A memorial funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church 100 Washington St. Woburn, Tuesday, Feb 20th, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
