Obituary

Alice Stanisewski, 80 of Londonderry, NH, died Friday, February 16, 2007 at her home. Mrs. Stanisewski was born in Hoyland, South Yorkshire, England on June 22, 1926, a daughter of the late John and Ellen (Cottrill) Senior. During WWII she served in the English Army with the ATS (Auxiliary Territorial Service). While in the service she met her husband Henry, who was serving with the US Military and they were married while in England. Following the war, they continued traveling and living in various places in the world. They settled in Lawrence, MA where she worked in the shoe factories. Mrs. Stanisewski moved to Londonderry in 1983 and had worked for six years for Londonderry Jr. High School as a “lunch lady” in the cafeteria. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, baking and spending time with her family.

She is survived by a daughter, Janice Nezballa of Londonderry and son in law, Philip Nezballa of Londonderry, a son, John Stanisewski of Pelham, NH and daughter in law, Deborah Stanisewski of Pelham, a son, Paul Stanisewski of Portland, ME and former daughter in law, Denise Stanisewski of Bedford, NH, nine grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren, two sisters, Ivy Conway and Joan Wiles, both of England and a brother, Peter Senior of England. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry W. Stanisewski in 1974 and by two great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday, February 19, 2007 in St. Marks Church, Corner of South and Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. There were no visiting hours. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry handled the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, PO Box 37243, Washington, DC 20013.
