Pearl T. Snow, 86, of Brockton died peacefully on Wednesday February 14, 2007 at the V.A. Medical Center in Brockton.
Born in Portland, Maine on August 17, 1920 she was a loving daughter of the late William E. and Evelyn (Lemoine) Snow.
She was raised and educated in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton High School. Miss Snow enlisted in The United States Army on August 5, 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1971 with the rank of Sergeant First Class. While serving her country she was a Operating Room Technician and Nurses Assistant. She had served all over the world until having to retire due to a service connected disability in 1971. Her fondest memories of the Army were the taking care of orphans at the Panama Canal Base Hospital.
Religion was a very important part of Pearl’s life. She loved being involved in her family’s lives. An animal lover she held a special fondness for toy poodles. She was a resident of the V.A. community for the past 9 years and was a former 28 year resident of Phoenixville, Penn. She had also lived briefly in Mansfield and Norton.
She was the dear sister of the late William Snow and Ruth E. Cooney. Pearl is survived by her loving nieces and nephews: William B. Cooney and his wife Joyce of Norton, Paul R. Cooney and his wife Laura of Plainville, Sheila R. Cooney and her husband Ronald Adams of Taunton, Judith E. Cooney of North Attleboro and the late Derith E. Amaral who passed away recently. Also surviving are several great nieces and nephews and several grand nieces and nephews.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday February 17th at 8:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visitation will be held prior to the funeral Mass on Saturday morning beginning at 8:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
