Marie “Yvonne” (Melanson) Stark, 95, of Salem, NH passed away peacefully on February 12, 2007 at the Hannah Duston Health Care Center in Haverhill, MA.
She was born in Lynn, MA on October 24, 1911, daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth (LeBlanc) Melanson.
She was educated worked and lived in Lynn, MA until moving to Salem in 1963. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Salem, NH.
She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. To her friends she will be fondly remembered as “Nana”.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Earl M. Stark of Salem, NH. One son, Ronald E. Stark and his wife Margaret (Troy) of Salem, NH; Two daughters, Elizabeth (Stark) Troy and her husband John of Atkinson, NH, and Linda (Stark) Downes and her husband James of Haverhill, MA; Grandchildren Zachary Stark, Kristin DiMarino and her husband Peter, Dr. Timothy Troy and his wife Danielle, James Downes and his wife Kristin and Andrea Downes and her fiancé Matthew Raciti; Great grand-daughters, Ashley, Emily and Kaylee DiMarino; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Feb. 16 at 1 PM at St. Joseph Church, Salem, NH. Burial will be in the spring in Holy Angels Cemetery, Plaistow, NH.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, Feb. 15 from 4-7 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St, Salem, NH.
