Obituary

Somerset - Mildred E. (Cowell) Wallbank, 94, of Westport passed away Sunday, February 11, 2007 at Clifton Rehabilitative Nursing Center. She was the widow of John J. Wallbank.

Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Isaac and Hannah (Catterall) Cowell, she had lived in Westport since 1950. She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Fall River and was a Sunday School Teacher for St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Fall River. A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Fall River, she was a former employee of O.B. Weatheral in Fall River, L.B. File in Fall River and the Westport School System. Mrs. Wallbank was a poll worker and a census worker for the Town of Westport. She was past president of the James Morris Post 145 Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Carol-Ann Tripp of Dighton and Sharon Bigelow-Anctil of Westport; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Everett Cowell.


Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, February 16, 2007 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M.

Calling hours Thursday 5 - 8 P.M.

Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to James Morris American Legion Post 145, 489 Sanford Rd., Westport, MA 02790.
