
Methuen, MA - Mary F. “Betty” (Curtin) Powers, 83, died Saturday February 10, 2007 at the Prescott House in North Andover.
Born in Boston, Mrs. Powers lived in Lawrence for many years and graduated from Lawrence High School before moving to Methuen 35 years ago.
Before her retirement she had been employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Data Clerk.
Mrs. Powers was a communicant of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish where she had served as a Eucharistic Minister. Mary was also past president of the Arnold Greenwood Ladies Auxiliary post # 8349 (VFW). Betty was a member of the Rocky Club and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren.
She was the widow of John Powers, and is survived by a daughter Carol-Ann Ramirez & her husband Jesse of Methuen, one son William & his wife Andrea Powers of Windham, NH, 5 grandchildren David Ramirez & his wife Alexandra, Paul & wife Lynellen Ramirez, Theresa Zahoruiko & husband William, Kate Powers, & Sarah Powers, 2 greatgrandchildren Nicholas & Erin Ramirez and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will take place on Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock in Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish/ St. Theresa’s Church 22 Plymouth Street Methuen, MA. with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
