
Jeanne Garrez of 35 Lefrancois Blvd. died peacefully in her sleep Sunday at home. She was the wife of the late Gerard Garrez. Mrs. Garrez was born in Vervier, Belgium a daughter of the late Henri and Pauline (Florence) Masson. She was employed by the former Branch River Wool Combing Co. for thirty six years retiring in 1971. She was a former member of the St. Agatha’s Sr. Citizens.
Mrs. Garrez leaves a daughter Jeanne Poirier of Woonsocket, a brother Henri Masson of Bellingham, six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Mrs. Garrez lived for her daughter and grandchildren, they were her whole life and she will be greatly missed but never forgotten. She was also the sister of the late Lucien and Julien Masson.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 in St. Joseph’s Church Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. Burial will be held in St. Charles Cemetery in Blackstone. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 would be appreciated.
