Pomeroy of West Bridgewater February 9, 2007 Joseph L. “Joe” Pomeroy 81 years. Husband of Rena P. (Rossi) Pomeroy. Father of Stephen Pomeroy and his wife Pamela of Durham, NC; Michael Pomeroy and his wife Barbara of Lakeville and Mark Pomeroy and his wife Christine of Middleboro. Grandfather of eight. Brother of the late John and Harry Pomeroy, Jr.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 10 am. Funeral Mass in St. Ann Church, W. Bridgewater at 11 am. Burial in the Mass National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:15 pm. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 pm. Obituary

Joseph L. Pomeroy 81 years of West Bridgewater died Friday afternoon at Life Care of West Bridgewater after a brief illness. He was the husband for 58 years of Rena P. (Rossi) Pomeroy. He was born in West Bridgewater a son of the late Harry J. and Elsie (Rehill) Pomeroy and remained a lifelong resident.
Following his graduation in 1943 from Howard High School in W. Bridgewater he enlisted in the US Navy and saw combat aboard the Bering Strait in the Pacific Theater.
In 2002 he retired as the owner of Pomeroy’s Donut Shop in West Bridgewater Center, a business he operated for 43 years with his brother Harry, wife and three sons. When a customer entered the shop he never knew if Joe would hit him with a flying donut or an insult.
Mr. Pomeroy was a life long communicant of St. Ann Church where he was a member and past president of the Holy Name Society and commissioner of St. Ann Little League.
He was a member of the West Bridgewater High School Grid Iron Club and enjoyed golf and time spent with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons Stephen Pomeroy and his wife Pamela of Durham, NC; Michael Pomeroy and his wife Barbara of Lakeville and Mark Pomeroy and his wife Christine of Middleboro. He also leaves 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late the late John Pomeroy and Harry Pomeroy, Jr.
