Obituary

DENNIS-Rosemary “Rhodie” (Mulhern) Deedy wife of Edward T. Deedy for 58 years died at Eagle Pond Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, S. Dennis with her family at her bedside.

Mrs. Deedy was the daughter of Dr. & Mrs. Joseph P Mulhern of Worcester. A graduate of Regis College with a B.A. in Sociology, she was a social worker for the City of Worcester and Supervisor of the Social Service Department for the Worcester Head Start Social Service Program retiring in September 1989.

She is survived by her husband, three sons, Edward T Deedy, Jr. of Princeton, Kevin J. of Foxboro and Brian G. of Nashua, NH, two daughters, Rosemary L. Goodman of Foxboro and Diane P. Cook of Breckenridge, CO, nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by three sisters, Marion Renz of Charleston, RI, Patricia Brown of Westport, CT and Honor Tracy of Northboro, a brother, Rev. Joseph H. Mulhern O.L. of Washington, D.C. A brother Thomas F Mulhern and three sisters, Catherine, Bianchi and Winifred predeceased her.

Her family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Eagle Pond Rehab, Living, Hospice and Palliative Care of Cape Cod who were so kind, helpful & supportive during Rosemary’s long illness. The time has now come to return Rosemary to her creator and enjoy the well-earned eternal life to the fullest she so rightly deserves

The funeral will be held Tuesday, Feb, 13 from the Doane Beale & Ames Funeral Home, 260 Main St., W. Harwich with a Mass to Celebrate her life at 10:00 AM in the Holy Trinity Church, Route 28, Harwich. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday, Feb. 12 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her name to St. John’s High School Scholarship Fund, 278 Main St., Shrewsbury, MA 01545. Arrangements are under the direction of CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, Worcester.
