Salem: Lorraine D. (Michaud) McCormick age 67 of Salem, died unexpectedly, Sunday morning, February 11, 2007, at the Beverly Hospital. She was the wife of the late Richard F. McCormick.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Aimee and Rachel (Fournier) Michaud. Married to Richard in 1957, she remained at home to raise their 5 daughters. She returned to work as a nurses aid and later as a sales associate for several retail stores including Anne & Hope of Danvers and Shaws of Peabody. A caring and giving person she was especially devoted to her family and friends and through the Christian Foundation for Children & Aging, Lorraine sponsored a child in Uganda. For relaxation she loved reading, bingo and puzzles. She has been a resident of Peabody for the last 7 years and returned to Salem in October of 2006.
She is survived by 4 daughters: Susan E. Bugbee & her husband Mark of Savoy, Elaine A. Fecteau & her husband Michael of Newbury, Dorinne A. Rouleau & her husband Paul of Beverly, Judith R. McCormick & her husband Mark Bannister of Salem, 11 grandchildren: Nicholas, Rachael & Anna Bugbee, Andrew & Richard Fecteau, Amy & Lauren Nardella, James Bannister, Emily, Kallie & Abby Cyr. Lorraine is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Nancy M. Cyr, a brother Henry Michaud and a sister Marie Poirier.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral (CHANGE OF TIME) on Thursday, February 15, 2007, at 11 am in the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem. Visiting hours: Tuesday 4 to 8 pm. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc. 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
