Oxford- Robert R. LaRochelle, 65, of Hollidaysburg, Penn., formerly of Oxford, died Thursday, Oct. 17, in Pennsylvania.
He leaves his wife of 43 years, Irene M. (Rivernider) LaRochelle; four sons, Richard LaRochelle of Plainfield, Conn., Gerald LaRochelle of Fort Myeres, FL, Alan LaRochelle of Charlton, and Brian LaRochelle of Kitzengin, Germany; a brother, Donald LaRochelle of Long Island, NY; a sister, Vivian Smith of Farmington Falls, ME; 10 grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Biddeford, Maine, son of Arthur J. LaRochelle and Angelina (Boisclair) LaRochelle Perron. He lived in Oxford for many years before moving to Hollidaysburg.
Mr. LaRochelle was the plant manager for 14 years at Cove Shoe Company in Pennsylvania, retiring last year. He previously worked as Vice President and General Manager of Anwelt Corp. in Fitchburg and had worked at H.H. Brown Company in Worcester for 20 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict with the 11th and 82nd Airborne Divisions as a paratrooper.
Mr. LaRochelle was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the American Legion. He was a former member of St. Roch's Catholic Parish, Oxford.
A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, in Notre Dame des Canadiens Church, 5 Salem Square, Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, in Dirsa-Morin Funeral Home, 298 Grafton Street, Worcester.
