James T. "Jim" McBride - Of Naples, FL and Falmouth, formerly of Wellesley, February 6, 2007. Age 61. Loving husband of Cecilia (Albanese) McBride for 38 years. Devoted father of Scott McBride and his wife Luz of Pasadena, CA, Sean McBride and his wife Britte of Arlington, and Thomas McBride and his wife Kelly of Washington, D.C. Brother of Charlene Barranco of Arlington and Mary Lou McBride of Holyoke. Son of the late Charles and Marie (Hoy) McBride. Grandfather of Ryan and Sara McBride. Uncle of Caralyea (Barranco) Landry of Arlington, Regina Olson of Holyoke and USMC Major John Barranco of San Diego, CA.
Born on September 24, 1945 in Baltimore, MD, he moved with his family to Arlington in 1958. He attended the Cutter School, Boston College High School and received is B.S. in Mathematics at Merrimack College, 1967. He received is Masters of Business Administration in Finance from Boston University, 1972. Jim joined Touche Ross as a management consultant in 1969. During his tenure at Touche Ross he held numerous prestigious positions including the Director of Audit Operations for the Boston Office, Boston Office Managing Partner for both Touche Ross, then Deloitte and Touche, Group Managing Partner, New England and the National Managing Partner, Marketing, Sales and Communications. He was admitted to Partner of Touche Ross, 1978, as the youngest elected Partner in the firm’s history. He was a member of the Management Committee and held a seat on the Board of Directors for both Touche Ross and Deloitte and Touche. He was one of the Principal Architects of the merger between national firms, Touche Ross and Deloitte, Haskins and Sells in 1989. He retired from Deloitte and Touche in 2003 after 34 years. Jim was actively involved in various philanthropies and boards within the Boston area, including the World Affairs Council, Park Street Corporation, Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston Symphony Orchestra, MFA, Massachusetts Institute of Technology Enterprise Forum and was a Trustee at Merrimack College. Jim was a member of the Wellesley Country Club, Pocasset Golf Club and the Country Club of Naples, FL. He enjoyed reading, golfing, playing cards, being near the ocean, grilling steak, spending time with his family and arguing his point until he was proved right.
