LOWELL—Geradine A. ‘Gerry’ (Conlon) Pattavina, 72 years old, died Thursday morning, February 8th, after a long illness, at the Sutton Hill Center, in North Andover, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of George Karam, to whom she was married for 18 years.
She was born in Lowell, on May 22, 1934, a daughter of the late Matthew and Mary (Bushey) Conlon, and was a graduate of the Immaculate Conception Grammar School, Lowell High School, Class of 1951, where she was a cheerleader and Girl Officer. She also attended night classes at Lowell Tech.
Mrs. Pattavina worked in the insurance business for more than thirty years, most recently for the Conway Insurance Agency, in Lowell. She will forever be remembered as a generous and caring person who touched the hearts of all who knew her. Her hobbies included cooking, going to yard sales, and collecting antiques.
Surviving her besides her husband are her six children: Cheryl DiCenso; Michael J. Pattavina; John Pattavina; Mary Ellen Amicone; Margot LaPointe; and April Pattavina; eight grandchildren: Robert McEnaney, Marcel Pattavina, Kelli Pattavina, Derek Pattavina, Alex Matarkos, Nathan LaPointe, Charlotte Lenes, and Brooke Lenes; a step-son: Chris Karam; a sister: Norma McAndrews; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late John and Thomas Conlon and Mary Ulsmer.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 PM on Sunday, February 11th at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass to be offered on Monday, February 12th, at 9 AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, Lowell. Cremation to follow.
