FALL RIVER - Nelson Silvia,78, of 2446 Highland Ave., Fall River, MA. formerly of 301 Milliken Blvd, Fall River, died Wednesday with his 3 children by his side at Catholic Memorial Home. He was the Husband of Beverly Lois (Isherwood) Silvia. He is survived by One Son: Stephen E. Silvia of Somerset; Two Daughters: Cynthia Paradis of Fall River and Carol Horton of Swansea; Three Sisters: Irondina “Dina” Rosa of Fall River, Barbara Bergold of Marion, MA, and Joan Zdon of PA. Grandfather of Jeffrey & Michael Paradis, Joshua, Andrew, & Jonathan Horton, Katie Wyant, Derick & Keith Leroux. Great Grandfather of Tyler, Haile, & Sage Paradis and Daniel Wyant. Several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Edith Michael.
Born in Fall River, the son of the late Adrian Silvia and the late Maria(Craveiro) Silvia. He was a life long resident of Fall River. Before retiring he was a Detective in the Fall River Police Dept. He was a former member of the Fall River Country Club and the Fall River Police Association. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II stationed in Japan. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
His memorial service following cremation, will take place in the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. on Tuesday at 5:00 P.M. Calling Hours Tuesday 4:00-5:00 P.M.
