Obituary



Viola M.(Richards) Pike, 82 died Thursday in Southwood at Norwell, after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late John W. Pike.

Born and brought up in Milton, a daughter of the late Fred A. and Ella (Hearthtz) Richards, she was a graduate of Milton High School.

Viola has been a Hanson resident since 1953.

She was the co-owner and bookkeeper for John Pike’s Garage in Hanson, until 1975, and then worked at Electrical Signal Lab in Rockland, before retiring in 1985.

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Richard Holland and his wife Terry of Whitman; three grandsons Keith, Patrick, and Ricky Holland of Whitman and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral services will be held Saturday February 10th at 3:00 P.M. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Route 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman. Burial will be at a later date. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Saturday February 10th from 12:00-3:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Norwell Visiting Nurse Association, 320 Washington Street, Norwell, Ma. 02061 or to the Hanson Senior Center, 132 Maquan Street, Hanson, Ma. 02341.
