Mary Alice Lyne, 85, of Derry, NH died February 8, 2007 at Pleasant Valley Healthcare Center in Derry. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 1, 1921, a daughter of the late George A. and Catherine M. (Leonard) Jeffries. Raised in Pittsburgh, she lived there until moving to Derry in 1979. Prior to her retirement, she managed the Faber, Coe & Gregg Gift Shop in Pittsburgh. For many years she had volunteered for quilt-making for AIDS babies and sewing for nursing home patients. Mary Alice was active in Democratic politics.
She is survived by three daughters, Sarah LaPorta of Derry, Katie Murphy of Bristol, NH and Becky Huston of North Hampton, NH; two sons, David Lyne III and James Lyne, both of Pittsburgh, PA; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; three brothers, Robert Jeffries of Shaker Heights, OH and Jim and Martin Jeffries, both of Cleveland, OH.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held in the Pittsburgh area at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America Inc., PO Box 631047, Baltimore, MD 21263-1047.
