Mr. Nicholas A. Cosindas, age 80, died unexpectedly February 5, 2007 monday evening, at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center, in Burlington. Born in Boston, Nicholas was the son of the late Julia (Kostandikos) Cosindas and Alex Cosindas. He has been a Medford resident for the last 38 years.
Nicholas attended Boston University and graduated from the Boston Conservative in the late 1950´s. His great love of music and drama began early and occupied many years of his life. As a dramatic baritone he palyed a major role in productions with Sarah Caldwell & the San Francisco Opera Co., as well as musical and theatrical groups in and around Boston.
Nicholas traveled and studied all over Italy and performed in productions with PBS. He was a renaissance man in many ways, an electrical engineer, and a craftsman inheriting his fathers talents as a cabinet maker. Nicholas also served with the Army Aircorps from November 1943, to May 1946, during World War II.
Nicholas is survived by his beloved wife Martha (Marino) Cosindas. Devoted father of Jeffrey Cosindas of Medford. Brother of Marie Cosindas of Boston, Peter Cosindas of Holbrook, Esther Teich and Olga Conides both of Arizona, Frank Cosindas and Louis Cosindas both of California. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Friday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours thursday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
