Helen E. (Streever) Stata died on Sunday February 4, 2007 at Traditions in Dedham. She was 95 years old. Mrs. Streever was a resident of Needham for over 53 years before moving to Dedham 4 years ago. Mrs. Stata was a 50 years member of the Carter Memorial United Methodist Church and the former President of the United Methodist Women. During World War II she was employed by the U.S. Navy as a civilian in the coordination center tracking German submarines off the coast of Maine. For many years she worked as secretary-bookkeeper with her late husband Newton, owner of the former D&S Building Supply Company formerly of Needham. Beloved wife of the late Harold A. Marr and the late Newton L. Stata . Loving mother of Allen R. Stata of Clovis, New Mexico. A Funeral Service will be held in the Gorse Chapel of the Carter Memorial United Methodist Church, 800 Highland Ave, Needham on Friday, February 9 at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting will be held in the Gorse Chapel on Friday morning from 10 to 11 AM prior to the service. Interment at Milton Cemetery.
