Obituary

DUDLEY – Anthony Lanzetta, 95, of Loon Lake, WA, formerly of Dudley, died Thursday, February 1, at his daughter’s home after an illness. His wife of 53 years, Helen (Filipski) Lanzetta, died in 2001.

He leaves 2 sons, Ronald J. Filipski of Boston and Mark A. Lanzetta of Ocala, FL; a daughter, Mary Louise Blake of Loon Lake, WA, with whom he lived; 1 brother, Alfred Lanzetta of Milford; 1 sister, Lee Schiappa of Milford; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carmela J. Lanzetta in 1970 and by a granddaughter, Pamela Filipski in 1988.

He was born in Milford, the son of Nicholas and Carmela (Ferraro) Lanzetta, and moved to the Webster-Dudley area in 1948. He lived in Washington since 2001.

Mr. Lanzetta worked at Rencroft Coat Factory in Worcester. He then made army field jackets at Renda’s in Worcester. He was a tailor at Bonardi’s Formal Wear in Worcester for 20 years, retiring in 1982. In his retirement, he continued working there part-time until 1994.

He was a member of St. Andrew Bobola Church when he lived here. He was a member of the Conservation Corps under FDR, developing land in western Mass.

The funeral will be held Saturday, Feb. 10, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main St. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. Calling hours are from 9:00 to 10:30 AM Saturday, Feb. 10, at the funeral home. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of choice.
