Obituary

OXFORD-Juliette T. (LaPlante) Dupont, 82, of 23 Wheelock St., died Friday, February 2, at her daughter’s home after an illness. Her husband of 29 years, Alfred A. Dupont, died in 1975.

She leaves four children, Kevin F. Dupont of Oxford, Elaine Koziak and her husband Stephen of Longboat Key, FL, Anne-Marie Sneed and her husband William of Oxford, and Alan A. Dupont of North Oxford; a brother, Patrick LaPlante of Oxford; 2 sisters, Gertrude Butler of Worcester and Jeannette Willey of Oxford; 3 granchildren, Christopher Sneed, Shannon Tambolleo and Samantha Ruth; 7 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Kenneth Dupont in 1975 and by her daughter-in-law Susan Dupont in 2006.

She was born and raised in Oxford, a daughter of Mitchell and Anna (Ledoux) LaPlante. She lived in Auburn for 18 years before returning to Oxford in 1970. She graduated from Oxford High School in the class of 1942.

She and her husband founded the Oxford Golf Course in 1970. It is now known as Pine Ridge Country Club.

Mrs. Dupont was a member of St. Ann’s Church in North Oxford.

The funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 10, at 10:00 AM in St. Ann’s Church, 654 Main St., North Oxford. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., Webster.
