Loudon-Roland Joseph Caron, 81, of 2 Brook Circle died Monday afternoon, February 5, 2007 at Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia after a brief illness.
Born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island on August 22, 1925, he was the son of the late Cyrille and Marie Flora (Genest) Caron. Roland was raised and schooled in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, and had worked at the Argonne Worsted Textile Mill before moving to New Hampshire. Roland and his wife lived in Gilford for 9 years and Danbury for 8 years before moving to Loudon.
Prior to his retirement in 1990, Roland was employed by the Laconia District Court as head of maintenance. He also worked at McDonald’s in Laconia as head of maintenance for over 6 years.
In his younger years Roland played semi-pro baseball for Club Marquette, and the Independence Club in Rhode Island.
Besides his parents Roland is predeceased by one sister, Theresa Dagesse in 2005.
Roland is survived by his wife of 57years, Irene L. (Simoneau) Caron of Loudon; one brother, Lois Caron, and one sister, Muriel Dagesse both of Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Many nieces and nephews also survive Roland.
According to Roland’s wishes there are no visiting hours or funeral services. Private burial for the family will take place in the family lot at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Bellingham, Massachusetts.
