Obituary

Domingos "Bim Bim" DeAndrade, 80, of New Bedford died Friday October 18, 2002 at his daughter's home after a brief illness. He was the former husband of Jovina (Andrade) DeAndrade, and son of the late Cristiano DeAndrade and Julia Aires.

Born and raised in Brava, Cape Verde, he had lived in New Bedford since 1976.

He was a parishoner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.

Mr. DeAndrade was formerly employed as a janitor at Cornell-Dubilier Electronics Corporation until his retirement.

He was a member the Bisca Tournament Club and was a champion Bisca player.

Survivors include his former wife; 3 sons, Julio DeAndrade of Rhode Island, and Joao DeAndrade and Cesar DeAndrade, both of New Bedford; 3 daughters, Carolina Neves and Elisabete Goncalves, both of New Bedford, and Natalia Almeida of Dartmouth; a brother, Jose Aires of Portugal; a sister, Arminda "Nene" DeAndrade of Boston; 16 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.He was the father of the late Jose DeAndrade and brother of the late Abel DeAndrade and Elmirinda DeAndrade.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordTuesday October 22, 2002 at 8 AM.Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours MondayOctober 21, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Interment St. John's Cemetery.
