Barbara B. (Johnson) Huston, 70, of Alton, New Hampshire died on Sunday February 4, 2007 at the home of her daughter in Norton, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Dana B. Huston who passed away in 2005.
Born in Malden, MA on January 11, 1937 she was a daughter of the late Frederick W. and Ethel G. (Ramsell) Johnson.
She grew up in Malden, was educated in Malden schools and was a graduate of Malden High School. She went on to become a graduate of the Boston School of Arts.
Mrs. Huston served her family as a loving homemaker and was also an accomplished artist specializing in water colors.
Barbara was a former member of the First Congregational Church in Malden, the same church that she and her beloved husband were wed in. She enjoyed knitting and gardening, especially attended to her beautiful perennial gardens. She had lived in Alton for the past 12 years and was formerly of Gilmanton-I.W., Dennis, MA, Malden, MA and the North Reading , MA area.
She was the devoted mother of Lynn H. Wiegel and her husband Terry of Norton, MA, Charles W. Huston and his wife Marjorie of Wilmot, New Hampshire and the late Scott A. Huston. She was the dear sister of Elizabeth Bedard of Gilmanton-I.W., New Hampshire and Gayle Pappa of Pasadena, Maryland. Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren Jillian, Alexander, Debbie, Brenda, Stephanie, James and Bethany as well as her 7 great grandchildren.
Memorial services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday February 10th at 2:00 P.M. in the Gilmanton Community Church, 1803 N.H. Route 140, Gilmanton-I.W., N.H. Private burial will be held at a later date in the Spring Brook Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours have been omitted. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Barbara’s memory to the Gilmanton Year Round Library, P.O. Box 413, Gilmanton, New Hampshire 03237.
