Obituary

LOWELL—Sheila (O’Brien) Logiudice, 70 years old, died Friday evening, February 2nd, at Saints Medical Center. She was the wife of Frank T. Logiudice, with whom she celebrated 44 years of marriage last November.

She was born in Worcester, on December 10, 1936, a daughter of the late John J. and Margaret (Gallagher) O’Brien. She moved to Lowell at age 5 and graduated from St. Michael’s Grammar School and Lowell High School. She received her Bachelors degree from Emmanuel College and a Masters degree in Biology from Boston University.

Mrs. Logiudice taught biology at Dracut, Woburn and Lowell High Schools. She also taught at the Lowell Arts Magnet School. She was the past president of the Catholic College Club, and held membership in the United Teachers of Lowell and the Retired Educators Association of Massachusetts.

She was a communicant of St. Rita’s Church and former communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church, where for over 15 years, she served as an assistant organist and accompanist, as well as director of the church choir. She was very active in the church teaching CCD at the Immaculate and being a member of the RCIA team at St. Rita’s Church.

Surviving her besides her husband are three sons: Frank, and his wife Lori, of Winter Park, FL; Edward, and his fiancé Sharon, of Fitchburg; and Thomas, and his girlfriend Amanda, of Haverhill; three daughters and sons-in-law: Martha and Philip Wik, of Dracut; Julie Ann and Tom Fetters, of Nashua, NH; and Angela and Michael Fader, of Surprise, AZ; three grandchildren: Derek and Alicia Fader, and Amanda Wik; as well as future grandchildren: Amber and Zachary Fournier; a brother and sister-in-law: John and Ann O’Brien, of Framingham; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Salvatore Murano, of East Boston; Helen and Jack Morrissey, of East Boston; and Marie Logiudice, of Revere; also many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM on Monday, February 5th at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass to be offered on Tuesday, February 6th, at 10 AM at ST.
