Margaret (Smith) Walsh, 81, died Friday February 2nd in the Braemoor Rehabilitation & Nursing Center of Brockton after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Robert Walsh, Sr.
Born and raised in Quincy, daughter of the late Thomas & Helen (Lonergan) Smith she attended Sacred Heart School.
She lived in Hingham for more than 20 years before moving to East Bridgewater where she resided for 15 years.
Her passion was her painting; Margaret spent many hours painting landscapes, portraits, and anything that captured her creative eye. She gave many of these oil paintings as treasured gifts.
She enjoyed the real estate market, and dancing, and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her children; Sean Walsh of Abington, Karen Tevlin and Sheila Berry of East Bridgewater, and Margaret Putman of New Bedford, her brother Paul Smith of Plymouth and her sister Katherine Hatch of Bridgewater, 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Robert Walsh, Jr. and sister of the late Thomas, William and Edward Smith.
Her funeral will be on Tuesday February 6th at 10 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street, (Route 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Beaver Cemetery, East Bridgewater. Visiting hours will be held Monday February 5th from 4-8 PM.
