Barbara E. (Salley) LaRosee, 74, a lifelong Norton resident died on Friday February 2, 2007 surrounded by her loving family at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the former wife of the late Paul J. “Budda” LaRosee who died on July 18, 2005.
Born in Norton, MA on April 1, 1932 she was a daughter of the late Charles N. and Myra (Limpus) Salley and the late Harry F. Salley
She grew up on her family’s farm in Norton and was educated in Norton schools. She was a 1950 graduate of Norton High School. Mrs. LaRosee was a retired assembler having worked for the Sinclair Manufacturing Co. in Norton for several years before retiring. She had formerly worked at Kilburn Glass also in Norton.
Barbara had attended All Saints Episcopal Church in Attleboro. She enjoyed country western music and when she was younger played the steel guitar and enjoyed yodeling.
She loved animals and was an exceptional cook and mother to her family. Her family will always remember her world famous baked beans and spaghetti sauce.
She is survived by her devoted children Paul M. LaRosee and his wife Sandra of Mansfield, Lee Ann LaRosee of Easton, David S. LaRosee of Norton and Pamela J. Porro and her husband Thomas of Winsted, Conn. Sister of Charles Salley and Gilbert Salley both of Norton and the late William Salley and Carol Ann Salley. Also surviving are her cherished granddaughters Erica N. Horan and Julie A. Horan both of Easton, Susan L. LaRosee of Mansfield and Lauren G. Porro of Winsted, Conn. as well as her many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services,to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday February 6th at 11:00 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial will follow in the Cedar Knoll Cemetery, Staples St., Taunton.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday February 5th from 4-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
