Methuen, Ma – Kathleen M. (Kay) Doran, a native of Methuen passed away February 1, 2007 at her home after a long illness.
Miss Doran retired from the Methuen High School in 1979 where she served as Business Department Head for 22 years and taught business subjects for 44 years.
She received a Masters degree in Education from Calvin Coolidge College in 1956, a BS degree from Boston University in 1932 and attended Methuen city schools.
Miss Doran was a past member of St. Monica’s Parish Council and a past volunteer at Neighbors in Need. She was a member of the St. Clare League of Catholic woman, St. Monica’s Sodality and the Greater Lawrence College Club. She was pre-deceased in death by her father, John W. Doran, Sr., former Methuen postmaster, and her mother , Mary Brosnan Doran; her brother, John W. Doran, Jr. and sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Doran.
She is survived by her beloved niece, Cheryl Doran-Girard of Santa Rosa California, niece Mary Doran Anderson of Plaistow, NH, nephew John P. Doran and sister-in-law, Eileen Fitzpatrick Doran, both of Sacremento, California; five grand nieces and nephews, five great-grand nephews, a great grand- niece and many well-loved friends.
A funeral mass will take place on Tuesday morning at 9 o’clock in St. Monica’s Church in Methuen with entombment to follow in St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Mausoleum.
Friends may call on Monday from 4-7 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
