Helen I. (Krygowska) Redman, 88, a life long Lowell resident, died Friday, February 2nd in Sunbridge of Exeter in Exeter, NH. She was the wife of the late Rodney A. Redman, Sr. who died in 1972.
She was born on August 10, 1918 a daughter of the late John and the late Catherine (Grochmal) Krygowski. She graduated from the Stanislaus School in 1933, and the Lowell High School in 1937.
Mrs. Redman was employed as a stitcher at the Atlantic Parachute Company during World War II. During the Korean Conflict she worked at Irving Manufacturing Company, stitching doctor's garmets. Mrs. Redman also stitched native Polish costumes for the Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity. Prior to her retirement she worked at the former St. John Hospital for twenty years as a supervisor in the housekeeping department.
She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa, a member of the Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity Senior Citizens Club and a member of the League of Catholic Women of Lowell. Mrs. Redman also volunteered for the Friends of the Lowell High School.
In her free time she enjoyed bingo and watching her grandchildren participate in sports. She also loved sewing and knitting for her family and was an avid football fan.
She is survived by her two daughters Regina and her husband John Fuller of Lowell and Brenda Wojcik and her husband Stanley Wojcik, Jr. of Hampton, NH; two sons, Rodney Redman, Jr. and his wife Kathleen Redman of Dracut and Mark and his wife Marie of Concord, NH; her son-in-law Robert Musgrave of Framingham; her sister-in-law, Alice Redman of Lowell; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.
She was also the mother of the late Frances Musgrave, the late Karen Sullivan, the late Nadine Keefe and the late John Redman and the mother-in-law of the late Lawrence Sullivan.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT on Monday from 2:00 until 4:00 and from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Her funeral will be on Tuesday from the funeral home at 9:00 followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in the Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity in Lowell. Burial will take place in the spring time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Felician Sisters: Our Lady of the Angels Province, 1315 Enfield Street Enfield, CT 06082.
