Leonard- of Whitman January 31st Robert F. ”Bob” 74, husband of Nancy L. (Birnie) Leonard of Whitman, father of Michael Leonard and his wife Rebecca of Wayland, Lawrence Leonard of Whitman, Francine Burns and her husband William of Randolph and the late Laurie Murphy; son-in-law of Helen Perry of Brockton; brother of John Leonard and his wife Kathleen of RI, grandfather of Hunter, Mallory and Bryn Leonard and Madison, Ronan and Megan Burns.
Robert F.”Bob” Leonard, 74, died Wednesday January 31st in Brockton Hospital after a short illness. He was the husband of Nancy L. (Birnie) Leonard.
Born and brought up in Brockton, son of the late Francis and Catherine (McCabe) Leonard, and a graduate of Brockton High School.
He has been a resident of Whitman since 1968.
Bob served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954.
He worked as a social worker for the State of Massachusetts and was an insurance investigator for the Pinkerton Company.
Bob was a member of the Brockton Federation of Musicians-Pianist.
He enjoyed playing the piano and his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Nancy L. (Birnie) Leonard of Whitman; two sons Michael Leonard of Wayland, Lawrence Leonard of Whitman, his daughter Francine Burns of Randolph; his mother-in-law Helen Perry of Brockton; also 6 grandchildren. He was also the father of the late Laurie Murphy
His Funeral will be held Monday February 5th at 11:00 A.M. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Route 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman. Visiting hours Sunday February 4th 3-7 P.M. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Donations may be made in his name to the Old Colony Hospice, One Credit Union Drive, Randolph, MA 02368
