Obituary

M. Louise R. Blanchet, 94 of Manchester, NH, died Wednesday, January 31, 2007 in the Maple Leaf Health Care Center, Manchester. Mrs. Blanchet was born in Trois Riviere, Quebec on October 31, 1912, a daughter of the late Bartholeme and Audelie (Belanger) Gagnon. She was a resident of Manchester for 5 years, formerly living in Derry, NH since 1995. As a young woman she had worked at the Shawsheen Mill in Andover and also worked for Genro Shoe in Lawrence, MA for many years. She was also employed at ITT in Lawrence, MA for many years. Louise enjoyed crocheting and crafts, sewing and making her own clothes and drawing pictures and portraits. She also loved her cats. She enjoyed traveling to the beach and the mountains, taking day trips with her friends. Louise was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Lawrence.

She is survived by her Goddaughter, Karen Kauffman and her husband David of Nottingham, NH, several nieces, nephews and cousins including her niece, Elaine E. Duke of Derry with whom she had resided, and also by many great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Emil Blanchet in 1995 and by two brothers.

Visiting hours were held from 6-9pm on Monday, February 5, 2007 at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:00am on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 in Holy Cross Church, 187 Hampstead Rd., E. Derry. The burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Andover, MA.
