Agnes B. Sweezy, 93, of Manchester and a former resident of Derry died January 30, 2007 at Hanover Hill Health Care Center, Manchester after a long illness. She was born in Waldeboro Center, ME on December 20, 1913, a daughter of the late Jean and Mildred (Aube) Beaudoin. A resident of Derry for many years, she moved to Manchester 14 years ago to live with her daughter. Mrs. Sweezy was a long-time employee of Shamrock Dry Cleaners of Derry and had also been employed by Jodi’s Shoe Co. She was a life member of the VFW Post #1617 Auxiliary in Derry, an avid Bingo player and also enjoyed solving crossword puzzles.
Family members include two daughters Nancy Rollins of Manchester and Elaine Noble of Derry; a son, Richard Shorey of Hudson, NH; 14 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren and a close friend, Keith St. Laurent of Manchester. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Raymond C. Sweezy in 1972 and three sons, Raymond F. Sweezy, Carl Sweezy and Lenny Shorey.
Calling hours were on Friday, February 2 from 9 – 11 AM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A funeral ceremony was held at 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry. Memorial donations may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
