Ruth (Davis) Rutstein of Revere died on January 29, 2007 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was 85 years old.
Born in Chelsea, the daughter of the late Abraham & Gertrude (Braver) Davis, Ruth was educated in the Chelsea Public Schools & a graduate of Chelsea High School Class of 1938. Wife of the late Arthur Rutstein, Ruth dedicated her life to her husband and children. She was a resident of Revere since 1996 having previously lived in Everett for over 48 years. Ruth was a Girl Scout Leader in Everett for many years, a member of the Sisterhood of Cong. Tifereth Israel of Everett, Hadassah, the Auxiliary of the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home, Jewish War Veteran’s Post 187 Auxiliary, & Cong. 420 at the Jack Satter House in Revere.
Ruth is survived by her children, Ellen S. McCarthy & her husband Paul of Salem, N.H., and Gary S. Rutstein & his wife Valerie of Hudson, N.H. She was the loving grandmother of Lori, Michael, Jonathan, & Jesse & his wife Angela. She was the cherished great-grandmother of Gia & Jesse, Jr. Ruth was the dear sister of Ethel Baker of Revere & the late Ida “Judy” Goldenberg.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at 1:00 PM in the Old Tifereth Israel of Everett Cemetery, 232 Fuller St. Everett. Memorial week will be private.
