Comerford – Isabel L. (Daniels) Of Marshfield, Jan 30. Beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Comerford. Dear mother of Paul D. Comerford and his wife Marilee of Marshfield, Joan C. Britt and her husband Robert of So. Burlington, VT. And Susan C. Lodemore and her husband David of Hingham. Grandmother of Paige, Galen, Jessica, Scott and Michaela. Sister of Margaret Kerr of Kingston, Katharine Arms of Brockton, Helen Chaves of Kingston and the late Mary Currie. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the MacDonald Funeral Home 1755 Ocean St (Rte 139) Marshfield Saturday at 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St Christine’s Church Marshfield at 11:00 AM.
Visiting Hours Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM.
Interment will be in the Couch Cemetery Marshfield.

Isabel Louise (Daniels) Comerford passed away January 30, 2007 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, MA following complications from surgery.

Born February 28, 1926, Isabel was raised in Brockton, MA. She graduated from Brockton High School in 1944 and graduated from Simmons College in 1948 with a Bachelors Degree in Business. Following graduation, she joined General Electric and worked in Schenectady, New York City, and Boston.

She married Joseph A. Comerford of Whitman on August 14, 1954. They and their three children resided in Whitman until 1980, at which time Joseph and Isabel moved to Marshfield, MA. Isabel was a dedicated long-term substitute teacher in Whitman and East Bridgewater for many years. She joined State Street Bank in Boston in 1977 and retired in 2003 after a 26 year career.

In addition to enjoying her career as an Executive Assistant at State Street, Isabel loved to travel and to spend time with family and friends. She was an accomplished seamstress and ballroom dancer. Upon retirement at the age of 77, she joined a health club and enjoyed exercising with her buddies three days a week.

Isabel is predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph, who died in 1990. She is survived by her three children: Paul D. Comerford and his wife, Marilee, and two daughters, Paige and Galen of Marshfield, MA; Joan C. Britt and her husband, Robert, and their children, Jessica, Scott and Michaela, of South Burlington, VT; and Susan C. Lodemore and her husband, David, of Hingham, MA. Isabel also leaves three sisters, Katharine Arms of Brockton MA, Helen Chaves of Kingston, MA, and Margaret Kerr of Kingston, MA, as well as several nieces and nephews. Her fourth sister, Mary Currie of Raynham, MA, passed away in 1997. Isabel will be dearly missed by her friends and family. The family wishes to thank the staff at South Shore Hospital for their support and compassion.

Calling hours will be 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2007 at MacDonald Funeral Home in Marshfield. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at St. Christine’s, Marshfield. Donations may be made in Isabel’s name to North and South Rivers Watershed Association, Inc., 214 South Street, P.O. Box 43, Norwell, MA 02061.
