Mary "Joyce" Hand Mainor, 68, of Brookfield died Tuesday, January 30, 2007, at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Murray Hand will officiate with burial to follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. Joey Hall, Donnie Hightower, Jack Lee, Lloyd Copeland, Curtis Woodard and Ronald Hand will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 1, 2007, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The family will meet at her home at 33 Brookfield-Lenox Road in Brookfield.
Ms. Mainor was born on December 1, 1938 in Berrien County and was the daughter of Edgar Byron Hand and Maggie Sumner Hand, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her step-mother, who raised her, Annie B. Grimes Hand; one brother; and one sister, Lou Nell Branch. She was a homemaker and of the Church of God faith. She was a loving wife, mother and "Nanny".
Ms. Mainor is survived by her husband, Gene Mainor of Brookfield; one son and daughter-in-law, Don and Lisa Hogan of Tifton; four daughters and sons-in-law, Sharee Hogan Harmon and her husband, Lawrence York, of Brookfield, Gena Hogan Partain and her husband, Matthew, of Enigma, Tawana Hogan Geiger and her husband, Jim, of Tifton, and Renee Mainor Griffin and her husband, Steve, of Moultrie; one brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Louise Hand of Tifton; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
