R. Joyce (Burke) Welch a Needham resident for over 55 years died on Monday January 29 at Hospice Atlanta in Atlanta GA. She was 76 years old. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ruth (Joyce) and John Burke. Mrs. Welch was a graduate of Quincy High School and Boston College School of Nursing. An avid supporter of Boston College and Boston College Football, she was a longtime BC Football season ticket holder. The beloved wife of the late John G. Welch, she was the dear mother of Brian T. Welch of Lexington and Dennis J. Welch MD of Atlanta GA. Sister of George Burke of Quincy, Marion Dick of Chatham, John Burke Jr. of Cleveland OH and Kathleen Burke of Yankeetown, FL. Loving grandmother of Matthew, Connor Michael and Thomas Welch. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Avenue Needham on Monday, Feb. 5 at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 10:00 AM.
