Earl N. Griffith, 82, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, January 27, 2007, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 31, 2007, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Steve Waldorf officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 to 9:00, Tuesday evening.
Mr. Griffith was born October 4, 1924, in Kokomo, Indiana, to the late Earl Newell and Rhoda Arletta Bullinger Griffith. He had lived in the community since 1978 coming from Anderson, Indiana. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He worked as an accountant and CPA for the General Motors Corporation for 35 years, working in Anderson then transferring to Fitzgerald where he worked for Delco-Remy (now Delphi). He was a member of Central United Methodist Church and the Carlyle Sunday School Class.
Mr. Griffith is survived by: two sons and daughters-in-law: Col. James Ray “Jim” and Nancy Griffith of Germany and George Lee and Ruth Griffith of Greensburg, Indiana; two daughters and a son-in-law: Jessica Lynn and Anthony Davenport of Fitzgerald and Genie Higgins of Wendell, North Carolina; fourteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister: Montra Smith of North Manchester, Indiana; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife: Alice Mize Griffith; one son, Earl Griffith, Jr. and one daughter: Carolyn Janie Wann.
