Loving son of Retired Chelsea Police Officer Walter and Stella (Kloss) Janiak. Beloved father of Tania Drigotas of Revere, Michael Drigotas of Winthrop, Michael Bencale of Chelsea, Robert Bencale of San Diego, California and Christopher Bencale of Swampscott. Dear brother of Deborah Berardino of Londonderry, New Hampshire, Lisa Correnti and Laurie Cataldo both of Lynn and the late Alfred "Butchy" Drigotas. Cherished grandfather of Gianni and Gino Drigotas. Also lovingly survived by many relatives, friends and colleagues. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, CHELSEA on Saturday morning, February 3rd at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Stanislaus Church, 163 Chestnut Street, CHELSEA at 9 o'clock. Born and raised in Chelsea, a graduate of Chelsea High School Class of '67, Michael, at 58 years of age, passed away at the North Shore Medical Center in Salem from injuries he received in a motor vehicle accident Saturday afternoon.
An employee of Exxon-Mobil Oil Corporation for over 25 years, his love of family and friends was only equal to his mastery of everything he touched. He was always the first to offer assistance, help or advice, be it helping build something or repair something. His family and his friends always came first and he will be always loved and remembered.
