Rovilla R. (Rodriguez) Skaliotis, 63, of New Bedford died October 16, 2002 unexpectedly at Lahey Clinic Medical Center.
She was the wife of Dionysios A. Skaliotis.
Born in Naga, Philippines, the daughter of the late Engr. Trinidad and Concepcion Rodriguez, she had lived in New Bedford for many years. She graduated from Silliman University, Philippines, with a degree in Nursing and received her Master of Nursing Administration from New York University.
She was an active participant in her Church, St. Paul's United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and wrote for the church newsletter.
Mrs. Skaliotis was employed for over 35 years as an operating room nurse in over four countries including the Philippines, the Netherlands, Canada and in the United States at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and as the Assistant Director of North General Hospital in New York City.
She enjoyed the guitar music of Segovia and played both guitar and piano.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Anargyros Aris Skaliotis and his wife Tammy, of Mattapoisett; two grandchildren, Alexandrea and Dionysios; 2 brothers, Cicero Rodriguez and Jericho Rodriguez, both of the Philippines; and 8 sisters, Czarina Patten of Riverside, Cal., Ida Rodriguez of New York City, and Clarissa Delfin, Victoria Rotea, Rosa Barot, Omega Villegas, Yolanda Rodriguez and Trinidad Galanza, all of the Philippines.
