Francesco Riccio, age 70, died in Medford at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital on Thursday January 25, 2007 after a lengthy illness. Francesco was the devoted son of the late Paolina (DeVita) & Luigi Riccio. He was the beloved husband of Antonietta (Santoro) Riccio.
Born in Ariano Irpino, Italy, Francesco came to the US and worked as a cabinet maker in Wilmington, MA for Paramount Mfg, Co. He worked there for 38 years before retiring in 2002. He lived in the North End of Boston with his wife Antonietta and their three children. They then moved and have resided in Medford since 1983. After retirement Francesco most enjoyed spending time with his loving grandchildren, Derek and Cayla. One other thing he enjoyed was going back to the North End and playing Bocce with his longtime friends from the North End.
In addition to his loving wife, parents and grandchildren, Francesco is survived by his children Luigi of Medford, Josephine Fusco and her husband Gerald of Medford and Paula Murdza and her husband David of NH. Brother of Tina Cirvinale of Melrose, Liberata and Elvira Riccio both of France, Lella Riccio of Italy, Gina Riccio of Switzerland and the late Anna Riccio. Loving uncle to Paula Tocco and her husband Michael of Melrose. Great Uncle to Stefanie, Nicole, Ana and Micheline Tocco.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Monday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
